ONE DAY SALE . . . SATURDAY JULY 12: JASMINE WINE HALF OFF![]() Gessami (Catalan for Jasmine) is not tea, of course, it's wine . . . the name is derived from the Persian word yasamin, Greek iasminon, Italian gelsomino, French jensemie and finally the Catalan version, gessami . . . and no, Gessami is not served at Moon Gate, but it should be. And it's not made from jasmine . . . although it could easily fool you. It's a blend of Muscat d'Alexandria and Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Gewurztraminer . . . the chalky soil's minerality, fermentation on the grape skins and stainless steel aging produce a wine of pure fruit, intense aromatics and bright crispness. Made at the Gramona family winery in the Penedes of Spain, near Barcelona on the Mediterranean coast. This is another case where the new vintage is on its way and I was able to score the last 56 cases of the '06 at a huge savings. open for tasting . . . 58% Off . . . enjoy.
