The 2016 Mr. Evans Proprietary Red is very deep garnet - purple in color, with beautiful cassis, crushed blackberries and wild blueberries scents with touches of violets, tilled soil, fungi, menthol and smoked meats plus a hint of cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied and tightly wound with loads of mineral accents coming through in the mouth, it's framed by very ripe, fine-grained tannins, finishing long and layered.
